AAUG Elections! More Apple hardware coming

By President Jon Scudder

Hopefully you got a new Apple device over the holidays or hand-me-down device. If not, Apple is expected to have plenty of new hardware. If you have a device that needs a new home, I encourage you putting the item for sale in our AAUG eNews. Apple tech journalists are expecting the largest roll out of hardware. I look forward to a year of improving our quality of life and hopefully get to our new normal later this year. My vision is to do a hybrid meeting so people who are part-time residents and people who reside in other cities can join AAUG.

We will finish the AAUG year virtually and hopefully be able to gather in the fall. The BP Energy Center has again postponed their reopening. The good news is you never need to miss a meeting. They are recorded via Zoom. Simply email me for the link. My hope is that we will be able to return to Computers and Caffeine in person as soon as the pandemic situation improves.

The AAUG Board of Directors will be taking nominations through February. If anyone is interested in volunteering next year, please let me know by sending an email to jonkscudder@gmail.com. We have one position open on the board. If you have a skill you can donate, there is a place for you on our board. We can suit the responsibilities to your time and skills. I would also like to thank the board members for their year of service. They have done a great job, orchestrating our way through this pandemic.. It has been a pleasure to work with such a dedicated volunteer board.

Dan Wassink and AAUG are continuing their collaboration. He has truly been an asset to our club. Our website is up to date with news and training. Dan is offering opportunities for live training which you can sign up. I would encourage members to participate. He offers recorded training if you want to join. It’s a great benefit and bargain.

Some of the benefits you get from AAUG include the following items:

  • Periodic Workshops, seminars and discounted Dan’s Tutorials
  • Information on Macs, iPods, iPhones, iPads and AppleWatch
  • Informative presentations at monthly AAUG Meetings
  • Discounted software, accessories and books
  • Door Prizes of MacLife Magazine
  • Membership product reviews
  • Blogs, Podcasts and monthly eNews Newsletter
  • National guest speakers
  • Computer & Caffeine and social activities
  • Personalized Computer Assistance
  • Advertising personal tech devices for sale
  • AAUG Facebook Group and AAUG Website Access
  • Refreshments (post COVID)

The Mac Minutes Podcast is continuing shows and would appreciate you listening, subscribing or leaving a comment. Subscribing is on most of your favorite podcatchers. If you have something interesting, I would like to have you as a guest. If you are new to listening to podcasts, I can help get you started.

Thank you for participating in our club. It’s been a pleasure to learn more about the technology which impacts our lives.

Best wishes and be well!
AAUG President
